Fleet management is already long-time a main activity within Periskal. We have a standard solution for fleet management. Via the web interface it is possible to retrieve information about your fleet without any additional software on the PC. It is a very flexible and modern application. The onboard equipment consist out of a small Inmarsat D+ transmitter with build in GPS. The equipment is transmitting properties of the ship like course, speed and position to a central server. There it is possible to consult the information.

Fixed price rates are available for transmitting periods of half an hour, one hour, two hourly, and three hourly intervals. Standard the onboard GPS information is send but it is possible to branch additional equipment. So it is possible to relay alarms and warnings from other equipment.
Inmarsat D+ equipment is very reliable and can be used everywhere on the world. 'except polar areas' It is a reliable, affordable and wide spread protocol. The webserver is presenting for each ship and/or fleet the actual and historical position. It is possible to consult the historical data graphical or in list form. The ship position is also calculated to the river km. The owner of the fleet can give access to third parties, for a certain time and ship. Reports can be consulted and exported. The onboard system can be combined with a digital chart for the skipper.

Fleet management can also be developed custom made. Periskal has made applications where fleet owners can do the complete follow up of a fleet.
The daily and voyage reporting is included in the system. All information about fuel consumption, engines, screws, tanks, weather, sea state, swell, crew etc.. can be gathered in a structured way and collected by the central server. The gathered information is presented in table format and can be exported.

The actual routes of a ship can be combined with weather information. So the reported situation from the ship can be compared by the actual weather information. All this is worldwide available. Special input applications are made for onboard use. They can be used on own ships as well as chartered ship because they do not require special onboard equipment. The only requirement is an onboard e-mail facility for transmitting the information.
