1. Mass flow
meter
Periskal has chosen Emerson
mass flow meters for the measurement.
Especially the type that is
measuring with Coriolus Force
is very useful on ship’s
engines. It has no moving
parts and measures very accurate
the flow of the fuel. In a
typical installation a flow
meter is installed on the
In and Outgoing fuel pipes,
this on every engine. 2.
Transmitter
The transmitter is connected
with the flow meter and
stores the measured values.
It also gives connection
with the onboard navigation
software.
3. Onboard navigation software
The Tresco Inland ECDIS
Viewer also produced by
Periskal is used to display
the measured fuel consumption.
It also allows to make daily
consumption reports, see
figure.
4. Optional communication
equipment
The stored information about
the consumption stays within
the onboard navigation software.
However parameters like
hourly consumption can be
transmitted to the shore
regularly using AIS and/or
Inmarsat. This information
can be combined with the
Periskal Tracking Solution.
