Fuel measurement and registration becomes more and more important due to the ever increasing prices of fuel. Periskal has now an ‘off the shelf’ system that fulfills the needs of inland shipping in this field. It works on every type of ship’s engine and is completely independent. The system has a few components like mass flow meters including transmitters and is linked with the onboard navigation software. This allows registration together with GPS information like position, course and speed of the vessel at the time of measurement. The onboard navigation software or a shore client allows to make the necessary reports of the fuel consumption for the owner. The system can be combined with tracking solutions via AIS and/or Inmarsat.
